3C Cowboy Fellowship, 16258 Gooseneck Rd., Salado Texas is looking for a part time, seasoned interim pastor, who understands the dynamics of congregational life in a western culture and can provide pastoral and administrative leadership immediately. The interim pastor will use his skills in proclamation and pastoral care to minister to the needs of persons in the church and community as negotiated in a covenant agreement. The selected interim pastor will also help prepare the 3C Cowboy Congregation for the next pastor and will perform the following General Duties:

General Pastoral Duties Include:

• Preparing and preaching biblical sermons during each regularly scheduled church service.

• Follow up on all salvations and baptisms; schedule and baptize those who want to be baptized.

• Answer Church correspondence.

• Assist Elders or Lay Pastors in performing Saddle Up Seminars ( new member orientation)

• Provide sermon notes and other content for the weekly Sunday bulletin.

• Schedule and execute the Lord’s Supper at least quarterly.

• Conduct a monthly Leadership meeting with the Elders, Lay Pastors and Ministry Team Leaders.

• Administer office responsibilities including financial reports.

• Supervise the church staff.

• Participate in outreach programs ( arena, youth, community)

• Pray for and visit those sick or in the hospital.

• Coordinate with and provide sermon notes and appropriate study material to the Round Pen Leaders each week. ( approve what round pens are teaching to ensure biblically sound and consistent with weekly sermon)

• Perform weddings and funerals as requested.

• Perform counseling as requested.

• Prepare Growin’ for God updates quarterly (status of pledges for church facilities).

• Meet with each ministry team once per quarter.

• Pray for and with the people in the church.

• Represent the church at denomination (or association) meetings.

• Serve as moderator for Church Conferences and business meetings.

• Perform other tasks assigned by the Elders. (The interim Pastor will answer to the 3C Cowboy Fellowship Elders.)

Qualifications:

          Spiritual:

• Must be saved, i.e., must have personally made a definitive decision to follow Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Romans 10:9, 10; John 3:16)

• Must have been baptized following salvation experience, according to the teaching of Jesus Christ.

• Must believe in the infallibility of the Holy Bible (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Matthew 5:19, 20; Act 18:24-25),

• Must agree with 3C Cowboy Fellowship Statement of Faith (as outlined in Saddle-up Seminar workbook).

         Ministerial: Experience and Credentials

• Licensed and Ordained by a recognized, accredited agency; Ordination Certificate required.

• Western Culture or Member of a Cowboy Church, preferred.

• Pastoral Experience includes at least one year minimum of full time pastor experience, Cowboy Church preferred.

         Educational:

• A minimum of a two year college degree from an accredited institution or seminary training is preferred.

         Denominational:

• Evangelical Protestant Christian

         Administration:

• Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.

• Budget: Demonstrated a working knowledge of church budgets and accounting principles (1 year preferred).

• Demonstrated past supervisory experience.

         Remuneration:

The interim Pastor shall be compensated based on a negotiated salary and benefits commensurate with education, experience and availability of time to serve.

• Appropriate personal information (family background, marriage, current family situation, children, hobbies, recreation, exercise, western heritage, etc.)

• Salvation and testimony

• Call to ministry testimony

• Formal education, experience, and achievements ( years of service and types of experience)

• Ministerial experience- Full, Part Time, and Lay Leadership ( tenure at each church position)

• Answer the questions “why are you interested in being the interim pastor of the 3C Cowboy Fellowship Church”?

• Include a signed Credit and Legal information release statement that authorizes the Pastor Search Committee, 3C Cowboy Fellowship, to run a personal criminal records check and financial background check. Include your full name, driver’s license number and social security number on the authorization/release.

• The interim pastor will not be considered for the permanent full time pastor position at 3C Cowboy Fellowship.

• Candidates for interim pastor position may be invited to preach at 3C Cowboy Fellowship as part of the interview process.

• Three (3) church references, (one must be from a Pastor or Church Official)
